dArt St Louis - The Gallery

June 3, 2009 |
In April, one hundred St Louisians stepped up to the line and threw their dart at the giant map of St Louis City. They then had a month to visit the block where their dart landed and make a photograph. Now the results are in. View the Gallery

Thanks to everyone who participated, we hope you had fun (we certainly did).

By popular request, Jay Baker created an iMix of the music from the Big Slide Show night. Get it from iTunes.

And be sure to check out the gallery of all the dArt photos.

AIGA St Louis' 20th Anniversary

May 28, 2009 |
FK was honored to host AIGA St. Louis’ Annual Meeting & 20th Anniversary Celebration. Hats off to 2009 Fellow Award recipient Cherie Fister and “Local Legends” Buck Smith, Sarah Birdsall and John Heaney. And the icing on the cake…….? Each of the more than 200 attendees walked away with a piece of original art donated by one of 20 local artists!

dArt St Louis - A Party.

May 6, 2009 |

Last week's inaugural dART St Louis event was a real hit with larger than expected crowds.  If you couldn't make it to the party, its not too late to participate.  Pull up a map of the City of St Louis and pick a spot at random - then go there and take a photo or make some sort of artwork!

dArt St Louis

April 21, 2009 |

FK is excited to host dArt St Louis: How do you see your city?  Here is how it works:

1. Come to the studio on Thursday, April 30th for a happy-hour Schlafly beer sampling.

2. Throw a dart at our big map of St Louis city. Write down which block you hit.

3. Over the course of the next month, visit your block and make a photograph, a series of photographs, a video piece, a painting, a drawing or any other kind of artwork.

4. Send us a digital file of your work.

5. Come back to FK on Thursday, May 28th for the results slide show and party.

Join us!  You don't have to play to party!

DARK SIDE OF OZ

March 10, 2009 |

Recently we hosted the first of many events in FK's new venue, The Darkroom. The Dark Side of Oz has a cultish following - we wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Our conclusion, while it could all be coincidence, it is still very cool. Check out this clip to see for yourself. (it may be best to let it pre-load a little bit before playing).
